"Parked"

Washington

The state of Washington—damp, cold, and cloaked in the foggy stillness of November. As I drove through the winding backroads, my mind was fixed on the journey ahead, the world around me slipping past in muted tones. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted it—an old Dodge truck, permanently “Parked” at the end of a random driveway, framed perfectly between three towering trees. I knew I had to get a photograph of it. It looked as if it had been resting there for decades, embraced by the encroaching wilderness. I almost didn’t stop, but something about that scene wouldn’t let me go. My love for old trucks and their stories urged me to make a quick U-turn, my instincts insisting that this moment was worth capturing.

I pulled over as close as I could without stepping onto the private property, carefully composing the shot from the roadside. The truck’s rusted frame, worn and weathered by countless seasons, seemed to harmonize with the vibrant nature surrounding it. The contrast was striking—the rugged, man-made machine blending seamlessly into the living landscape. It wasn’t just an abandoned vehicle; it was part of the environment now, as if it belonged there all along.
