"By The Sea"

Big Sur, CA

A few days into my photo trip to Big Sur, I found myself perched on a cliff, gazing out over Garrapata Beach, eagerly anticipating the arrival of the sunset. My photograph, “By the Sea” captures that unforgettable moment. I had the luxury of time to spare, allowing me to truly immerse myself in the breathtaking scenery before capturing it through my lens. It occurred to me that this experience paralleled life itself—a perpetual race against time, often leaving little room to savor the present moment. However, on this occasion, I made a conscious effort to plan ahead, ensuring I arrived at this particular spot well in advance of sunset. By doing so, I discovered the power of allowing oneself to pause and appreciate the beauty surrounding us, rather than perpetually rushing through it.

This photograph not only provides an escape into the dreamlike realm of a California coast sunset but also serves as a vital reminder to embrace the art of being present. It serves as a visual testament to the rewards of careful planning and allocating extra time, enabling us to seize the opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in the magic of the moment.
