There are some families I truly look forward to photographing every year, and this one is definitely one of them. We met in Arlington Gardens in Pasadena, one of my favorite locations for natural, relaxed family portraits. The garden’s winding pathways, native plants, and warm California light make it a perfect backdrop for fall sessions.
For this session, the family chose green outfits, and it couldn’t have worked better with the surrounding landscape. Arlington Gardens is full of soft greenery, earth tones, and golden light, and their wardrobe choice blended beautifully while still allowing each personality to stand out. Coordinating colors instead of matching is one of the best ways to create timeless family photos, and this session is a perfect example of that.
