Bodie, CA—a former gold-mining town turned ghost town, nestled in California’s Sierra Nevada. It’s one of my favorite places to photograph, where time stands still and history lingers in every crumbling building. On this visit, I set out to capture the haunting beauty of this amazing place and was able to capture this haunting black-and-white photograph featuring this 1937 Chevy coupe and one of Bodie’s old buildings in the background. What better way to experience “All Those Yesterdays.”

With the evening approaching, the sun lowered in the sky and helped create more of a stark contrast between light and shadow that painted an almost ethereal scene, as if the past itself was alive, whispering stories through the cracked windows and faded paint. The blurred background only deepened the sense of isolation and timelessness—a fleeting glimpse into a world long forgotten, forever frozen in time.
