"Getaway"

Hollywood Hills CA

I didn’t plan on capturing this moment, but sometimes the unexpected surprises us. On a pleasant Sunday afternoon, my family and I decided to explore Travel Town at Griffith Park and then visit the Griffith Observatory. However, it turned out that all of Los Angeles had the same idea. We tirelessly scoured the area for a parking spot to no avail. With daylight slipping away, we embarked on a thrilling adventure through the narrow, winding streets of the Hollywood Hills, eventually finding our way to the Hollywood Reservoir. This photograph, titled “Getaway” encapsulates that spontaneous journey.

The Hollywood Reservoir had long been on my Los Angeles photography bucket list, a place I’d been eager to explore for quite some time. My daughter and I eagerly stepped out of the car to take in the scene. I had only brought my camera with a single lens, far from the ideal setup, but sometimes you must make the most of what you have and hope for the best. The signs of a stunning sunset were unmistakable. To capture the moment, I patiently waited for the vibrant colors to grace the sky.
