I absolutely adore Big Sur! It offers an abundance of captivating locations and subjects for photography, and one of the most iconic spots is the Bixby Bridge. In my photograph “The Bixby,” this beautifully constructed bridge stands as a breathtaking marvel against the rugged California coastline. Driving along this stretch provides the most exceptional views of the ocean, and it’s no wonder so many travelers stop to soak in the scene and explore the surroundings.

Similar to piers, I have a fondness for capturing images of bridges, and the Bixby Bridge is particularly captivating. It’s incredible how this man-made structure seamlessly blends with the beauty of nature, offering a sight that’s both grand and harmonious. During my recent visit, I set out with the intention of capturing a sunset picture. The way the warm glow of the sun illuminates the bridge while painting the horizon with vibrant colors is simply perfect. Having this photograph displayed on your wall would be a constant escape to this serene and captivating place.
